Swamp Gloss Loki Collection

PRESS SAMPLE

The Swamp Gloss Loki collection was a huge hit when it originally released as part of the Battle of the Bottles and it will now be available in the Swamp Gloss shop! This release is also special because it is the Swamp Gloss 2 year indieversary (the indieversary date was September 1st)! WOO!
Now you may be aware that hurricane Ida recently hit Louisiana (where Swamp Gloss is located) so this release will be a little bit smaller than originally planned. This just means that the wax and full body restock will occur at a later date.

The following is what will be released:
The Loki collection, The Bifrost collection, What We Do in The Shadows Mysteries, lotion, cuticle oils, and perfume
The new Loki inspired scents (that are mentioned at the bottom of this blog post) will be available as well!
There will also be merch! I have some photos of the stickers and magnets near the bottom of my blog.

Release Date: Saturday, September 18th 2021
Release Time: 10:00 AM PT / 11:00 AM MT / 12:00 PM CT / 1:00 PM ET
Price: $58.00 USD for the set of 5 polishes, or they are available individually as well!
Merch prices are listed at the bottom of my blog

Well get your nets ready because we are going fishing for some GIANT whale sized flakies! OH MY GOSH. I cannot get over just how amazing and giant these are in this polish. So I did 3 coats to get full coverage and I think 3 did a pretty good job. This polish is jam packed with flakies and glitters so you definitely will not have to fish for them. I also only used 1 coat of top coat. I did have my glitter grabber top coat handy, but went ahead and tried without it. The polish seems to level out pretty darn well on its own without needing the extra later of smoothing top coat. There may be the tiniest bit of texture, but not much at all. If you are wanting 100% smooth though, you might use one, but it’s always up to you! 🙂
This polish also transitions super easily and I love the mix of colors!

My swatches are 2 coats of polish and topped with 1 coat of top coat.

Ooo this is another great thermal! It is loaded with glitters and flakies and just like “Jet Skis Are Awesome,” it applied quite nicely. I only needed 2 coats for full coverage and this one leveled out well also on its own, so I tried only 1 coat of top coat again. There wasn’t much texture after that but there was some so you might want to try a glitter grabber top coat of your choice. I love the mix of colors and it doesn’t hurt that I’m a sucker for teal. The pink and red flakies just light up and I love this one matte as well!

My swatches are 3 coats of polish and topped with 1 coat of top coat.

Alright, this polish is insane! Just look at the bottle shots! This polish looks amazing either magnetized or not, and I really can’t decide if I prefer one way over the other. It applied quite easily and has a very nice pull for the magnetic pigment.
I love the giant flakies mixed in and the mix of colors go so perfectly together!
I am still definitely working on my magnetic polish application skills, but I will go over my process below!

1. I applied thick coats.
I actually did 1 coat of polish by itself and did not magnetize it, then I did 2 more coats and magnetized each of those. The thicker coats helps get more magnetic pigment on the nail!

2. I shook the bottle of polish in between every coat of polish. This helps mix up the magnetic pigment probably a little bit more and probably gets more on the brush. Do I have proof this works? Naw. But it makes sense to me!

3. I held each nail (after each coat) under the magnet for 1 whole minute. I also held each nail under the magnet for a minute after top coating. I definitely recommend doing this because top coating can spread out the magnetic pigment. “Floating” your top coat brush over the nail so the brush doesn’t touch the nail probably helps as well, but I would still hold the magnet over the nail once top coat is applied.

These photos are also about 10-15 minutes after the last time holding the magnet over the nail for those folks wanting to know that info.

For my swatches a few photos down where my middle two fingers are not magnetized:
I did put 1 more coat of polish over the 3 coats + top coat on my middle fingers to show the polish not magnetized. I then just put one more coat of top coat. I predict you should be able to get full coverage with only 2-3 coats of polish not magnetized.

My swatches are 2 coats of polish and topped with 1 coat of top coat.

Oh gosh this is a sultry polish! I am in love with the purple-teal-pink shift and the white glitters are so cute! There are also plenty of glitters so your nails definitely won’t ever be empty.
The polish applied super easily and everything did even out really well after application, but after just 1 coat of top coat there is still some texture. I might recommend a glitter grabber top coat if you would prefer to not feel any texture. 🙂 It didn’t bother me though, so I went with it. I love how this polish looks in different lighting conditions and I love how the glitters stand out even more when matte. This is definitely one of my favorites from the collection!

My swatches are 3 coats of polish and topped with 1 coat of top coat.

Now I think with this polish had full coverage at 2 coats, but just to make sure, I went with 3. I think I might have missed some spots with my own application, so 2 may be all you need. 🙂 It applied super easily and I love the triangle glitters! They are so cute and not something you see super often! Everything also evened out perfectly on its own, and I did only do 1 coat of top coat again, and I did feel some texture after just the 1 coat, but nothing crazy. There was no texture after adding a matte top coat so I imagine using a glitter grabber of your choice would take care of all the texture.
The polish has a crazy awesome orange glow which you might almost not expect when looking at the bottle! I also love how this one looks matte! It suits the glitters and the charcoal perfectly!
