Psych Collab Box

PR SAMPLE

Hey everyone!
A few fabulous makers have gotten together to create a Psych collab box! Geekish Glitter Lacquer, Red Eyed Lacquer, and Swamp Gloss have all created two fabulous items for this collab and I have them all to show you today!
What is Psych? It is a detective-comedy drama tv series that ran from 2006 to 2014! I have been told I should watch it, but unfortunately I just have not had a chance yet! I am currently in the middle of way too many shows….I am sure you all know the feeling.

Before I show off all the items, let’s go over the important release details!
This collab box will be available for preorder 11/21 – 11/28.
The box is available as a full set, and it will be $50.00 USD plus shipping. For 3 polishes and 3 hand and body items, that is an amazing deal!
It will be available at www.swampgloss.com
The turn around time (TAT) will be 2-3 weeks after sale.

Now let’s take a look at all of the items!

My swatches below are three coats of polish over a peel off base coat and topped with a quick dry top coat.

I do want to mention that I think two versus three coats may not make too much of a difference. Since this is a jelly, there will be some visible nail line, but that is okay! I am actually a little proud of my brush photo because it actually looks like a jelly polish in the shot! hehe! It reminds me of juicy squishy pineapple. This polish applied like a dream and even though I don’t normally reach for yellows, this is a great one and I can’t wait wait to use it again. Probably for some pineapple themed nail art!

You Wanna Bumble With The Bee, Huh?

Description: Swatcher’s Soap is a thick whipped sugar scrub soap scented in the scent of freshly baked chocolate brownies and the soft hint of oatmeal and honey.
*NOTE* – Swatchers received 2 oz scrubs. My photos below are of the 2 oz scrub. You will be receiving a 4 oz scrub when purchasing the Psych collab box.
Ingredients: Glycerin, Aqua, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Disodium Lauryl Sulfosuccinate, Sorbitol, Granulated White Sugar, Apricot Kernel Oil, Skin Safe Fragrance, may contain: soap colorant

Now I am already a big fan of GGL’s Swatcher’s Soap. So maybe I’m biased. I use it frequently–before and after swatching, daily for fun, just all the time! It leaves my hands feeling nice and soft and there isn’t so much sugar in it that it tears my hands apart. It has a very nice lather and is just all around pleasant to use. For my photos below I ummmm was not able to take any at the bathroom sink this time so unfortunately my photos are of the soap on my hand in my light box. And yes, I did get water all over my table haha!

Now before reading the scent description, I definitely thought it smelled like chocolate or graham crackers. Well, I was almost right! It is described as chocolate brownies and oatmeal and honey (probably my nose picking up graham crackers). The scent however, is not overbearing and it is not overly sweet or sugary. I do not feel like I need a glass of milk when I am using this one. 🙂

My swatches below are 3 coats of polish over a peel off base coat and topped with a quick dry top coat.

I think that two coats for this polish would have been enough to have full coverage, but I went for 3 just incase. Now I’m a sucker for shimmer (and blue for that matter), so of course I love this one! The similar shade of the shimmer (say that 5 times fast) really suits the polish and I love how this one catches your eye and then also urges you to take a second look. The formula is ultra smooth and it applied super easily.

Shall I Slice This Up For The Road?

Description: A custom blend of pineapple and blueberry to engage your psy-enses 😛
5 ml cuticle oil roller ball
Ingredients: Jojoba Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Vitamin E Oil, Apricot Kernal Oil, Coconut Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Skin Safe Fragrances.

Just like with the GGL scrub, I also use Red Eyed Lacquer’s cuticle oil daily. Well, I try to. When I take breaks from swatching I tend to forget and uhhh well, my hands start to dry out. But anywho! This cuticle oil works just as well as all the others from REL. For me at least it soaks in quickly and leaves my skin, cuticles, and nails looking much more moisturized and maybe even healthier! I’m normally a brush applicator person but I have grown to like the roller ball applicators. I just roll it around the inside of my nail and let it soak in! I tend to not rub the oil into my fingers, but just let it sit and soak in on its own. Maybe that is silly, but it’s just how I use it 🙂

As for the scent, I pick up pineapple. Just so much pineapple. It’s not overbearing or too sweet, but there is definitely that pineapple tangy-sweet-ness. There is also something that I can’t quite put my finger on in the scent, and that must be the blueberry. It all just blends together super well!

Oh boy the shift in this polish. I think I was able to capture it all because in all honesty, it’s rather easy to see! You can almost see all of the shift colors at any moment / with any position of your hand. The turquoise micro flakes really shine in this polish as well. It applied very easily and I cannot wait to wear it again!

Anna Banana

Description: A silky smooth lip balm with flavor notes of pineapple, grapefruit, banana, orange, lime zest, and mango nectar with a sprig of garden mint, aged rum and sugar cane
Ingredients: coconut oil, shea butter, cocoa butter, beeswax, tocopherol (vitamin e), argan, rosehip seed oil, flavor oil

Okay. Before I repeat myself again, I think I’m just going to come out and say it. I’m pretty biased about all of this box. I love everything. I use all of these items almost daily and they are some of my favorites. 😀 And not just the PR items. I also purchase the scrubs, oils, lip balms, and polishes from these brands myself as well.
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO now I will say that like the scrub and cuticle oil, I love the lip balm too. I seriously have a Swamp Gloss lip balm in every room in the house. I even have a purse and a work lip balm. I use it a couple times a day and it keeps my lips feeling moisturized and never dry. This one applies like butter and you don’t need much for your lips to feel covered.

As for the scent, I definitely pick up the pineapple. There is definitely more to the scent, and more fruity notes, but I pick up mostly the pineapple. It’s also allergy season so my smeller is a little bit off as well. As a whole, the lip balm scent is definitely not overbearing and has the perfect scent level.
