Hello again! I am back with a brand that is new to my blog!
I was honored to be asked to join the swatcher team for Pin-Up Paint and I am so excited to show off this Bikini Babes polish collection!
Since Pin-Up Paint is new to my blog, I figured starting with some information on the brand could be helpful and good to share, especially for those of you that are new to the brand as well!
The lovely maker behind this brand is named Jenni and she has the cutest story of why she got into making nail polish. This is on her Etsy and Facebook page:
I first fell in love with nail polish as a small girl, when I got a present for either my birthday or Christmas; it was a bottle with a pink lid, Sleeping Beauty was on the label and bubble gum pink polish inside. Fast forward to NYC, Greenwich Village, I was 15 and in my very first nail salon, it was Christmas morning all over again. So many colors! It was then I started to pour a little from this into that to make my own colors. While working on my BFA, my love of color had only intensified. So here I am today.
Jenni
Pin-Up Paint is a reflection of things I love; vintage Pin-Up models, old Hollywood glamour and painting all wrapped up in nail polish.
I hope you fall in love with Pin-Up Paint!
Her Etsy page is full of fun and whimsical colors (her most recent release was actually the whimsy collection! hehe!) and after purchasing 10 Pin-Up Paint polishes, you get one free! You should receive a card with your first order so be sure to keep track of how many you buy (Jenni is also kind enough to keep track as well, just in case 😉 )! This offer never expires as well!

Now let us get onto these gorgeous polishes!
The full Bikini Babes Collection will release July 1st, 2020.
The release time is 7:00 AM PT / 8:00 AM MT / 9:00 AM CT / 10:00 AM ET
Each polish is $10.00 USD or the full collection is $50.00 (That’s a $10.00 savings!).
Each bottle is 10.5 mL and the brush included is a wide flat brush.
Also, for each “solid color” polish, there is a matching topper! I have put the matching topper just below its counterpart in my blog below.
This collection is inspired by the bikini babes of the early fifties and sixties! The inspiration images are of the women these polishes are named after. Some are lounging in the French Rivera or in the Mediterranean Sea at the Cannes Festival!
My swatches below are all over a peel off base coat and they are topped with a quick dry top coat and / or a matte top coat for some of the photos. For the toppers I show each of them over their matching solid color polish, along with the topper alone and over black and white.
Brigitte
Description: A Mediterranean blue polish with a turquoise diffuser
Price: $10.00 USD
For the swatches below I used 3 thin coats of polish. I think this one builds up very nicely and I did not have any issues with application. I am crazy about not wanting to see visible nail line (just my personal preference on myself most of the time) so I went for full coverage with this one, but it still looked nice with only two coats.
Bo
Description: A milky turquoise sheer polish with teal glitter
Price: $10.00 USD
The swatches below are two coats of Bo alone on my pinky and index finger. Then on my ring finger is one coat of black polish topped with one coat of Bo. My middle finger is one coat of white polish topped with one coat of Bo. I had no application issues at all.
This polish is very versatile. It completely changes over different colors and honestly I think I like it alone the best! It reminds me of some sort of pearly opalescent sea-shell or something! I also especially like this one over Brigitte. It just makes it glow even more!
Vikki
Description: A pino noir / merlot wine colored polish
Price: $10.00 USD
For the swatches below I used 3 thin coats of polish. This one builds up nicely like Brigitte and I cannot get over this one matte. I really want to wear it again that way very soon.
I had no application issues.
Yvonne
Description: A pink champagne polish with strawberry glitter. There is an orange diffuser in the base color to create a champagne feel.
Price: $10.00 USD
The swatches below are two coats of Yvonne alone on my pinky and index finger. Then on my ring finger is one coat of black polish topped with two coats of Yvonne. My middle finger is one coat of white polish topped with two coats of Yvonne.
I think this polish may be the only one I had any sort of application problems with. And that problem was me shaking too much! I was not able to get perfect “application lines.” Like, when you drag your brush towards the front of the nail and some more pearly polishes, such as this one, leave like, visible lines in the polish. I think this has a name, but I really just cannot think of it! That caused some of my photos to look like the polish is almost smooshed, but it is not, and it was really just due to my application. The macro shot may be my best representation here.
I also somewhat considered retaking these photos because I thought there was almost no difference with Yvonne over black and white, but I *cough* showed a friend before these released *cough* don’t tattle on me *cough* and she mentioned that she thought it was cool that it almost made Yvonne look grey when over the black. And after staring at the photos some more, I am glad I kept them this way.
Ursula
Description: A violet toned polish with a periwinkle and turquoise shift
Price: $10.00 USD
For the swatches below I used 3 thin coats of polish. This one builds up nicely like both of the other solid colors and this is another that I cannot get over how lovely it looks matte. I love the mix of colors and shift in this one because it combines two of my favorite colors–so I am probably biased.
I also had no application issues. It went on nice and smooth!
Raquel
Description: This polish has a clear base and is loaded with varying purple and silver glitters
Price: $10.00 USD
The swatches below are two coats of Raquel alone on my pinky and index finger. Then on my ring finger is one coat of black polish topped with one coat of Raquel. My middle finger is one coat of white polish topped with one coat of Raquel. I had no application issues at all.
So honesty time. I think this topper may overtake my love for the deep merlot of Vikki. This glitter packed polish applied fantastically and It looks so good alone or on the colors I tried it over. Raquel over Ursula is just killing me as well, I love it so so much.
Well there you have it folks! This is the full 6 piece Pin-Up Paint Bikini Babes collection!
